Antibiotics

A demethylated form of bleomycin A2 which is a major component in standard grade bleomycin. It is formed by heating bleomycin A2. It has high antimicrobial activity against mycobacterium smegmatis compared to bleomycin A2. It has a lower toxicity.

A salt form of Meropenem. It is a beta-lactam antibiotic in the carbapenem class.

It is produced by the strain of Pseudomonas Sp. It is one of the individual polypeptide components in polymyxin B sulfate. Polymyxin B targets and alters permeability lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of gram-negative bacteria leading to lysing of the cell.

It is produced by the strain of Pseudomonas sp. It is one of the polypeptide fractions in polymyxin B sulfate. Polymyxin B1 is an antibacterial compound. It has a high volume of distribution and longer elimination half-life in patients with multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacterial infection.

An antibacterial solution comprised of penicillin (10,000 units/ml), a beta-lactam, and streptomycin (10,000 ug/ml), an aminoglycoside in 0.9% NaCl.

FD-838 is produced from the mycelia of the basidiomycete Hericium erinaceum. FD-838 inhibits the growth of two plant fungal pathogens Botrytis cinerea and Glomerella cingulata. It has anti-tumor activity.

Quinupristin is an antibiotic and usually used in combination with dalfopristin (The trade name is Synercid). It is active against Gram-positive bacteria through inhibiting protein synthesis of the cells, but not active against Gram-negative bacteria, so it needs to be given in combination with other antibacterials for mixed infections which also involve Gram-negative organisms.
