It is produced by the strain of Pseudomonas sp. Polymyxin B3 sulfate is an individual fraction found in the antibiotic mixture polymyxin B sulfate. Polymyxin B targets and alters permeability lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of gram-negative bacteria leading to lysing of the cell.
